Every time I come across an article or review of Soft Cell that uses the phrase, "one-hit wonder of the Eighties", I lose just a little bit more of my heart. For the duo of Marc Almond and Dave Ball have been, and continue to be so much more. Their songs were my anthems throughout my youth. Showing me a strength to be found in being odd, disenfranchised, in being that weird kid who didn’t fit in. That there was beauty to be found in the absurd. Even to this day, the music of Marc Almond and Soft Cell continue to show me that you can age gracefully while never sacrificing any of that beautiful absurdity. Because, when you just get right down to it…life is completely absurd and odd. And that's...beautiful.

Even though Soft Cell may never shake that one-hit wonder label, it would be hard to argue that they weren’t trailblazers that left a lasting legacy that can still be heard today.

So. I won't go on to tell you just WHO Soft Cell are, for that is a discovery you must make for yourselves. And the best way to do that, is through their music.

It is with deep found respect that we here at Coitus Interruptus Productions have gathered up some of todays artists to pay homage to the songs of Soft Cell and the continuing solo works of Marc Almond.
